This is a list of things I got wrong in my blog posts, in reverse chronological order.

I think it's somewhat dumb for blog posts to be treated like static objects. Accordingly, I go back and refine older posts semi-regularly for clarity and to occasionally add more context (though I would never alter the core thesis of any blog post). This makes it all the more important to keep a document outlining all the times I was wrong.

I suspect that this list is not comprehensive. If you find what you believe to be a factual error in one of my blog posts, please email me at hi at jenn dot site.

2026-01-18: In Five Theses on AI Art, I wrote that photography freed painters from portraiture and "that's how we got our Monets and Turners and Van Goghs." Turner died in 1851, before photography was widespread enough to have that liberating effect on painting, and is generally considered more of a precursor to impressionism than an impressionist painter. This article has now been updated.

2025-11-19: In Notes on Interational Klein Blue, I mistakenly claimed that JMW Turner was the first accredited artist to use synthetic ultramarine pgiment. While traces of this pigment was found on an oil palette he used, there is no evidence that he actually made any paintings with it. This article has now been updated.

2025-06-12: In girltalk-maxxing in the cult compound, I mistakenly overstated the amount that Nicholas Decker gave away to charity. This article has now been updated.

2020-04-05: In Now, Less than Ever I made the claim that if surveillance for contact tracing is rolled out, it would not be rolled back post-pandemic. This article has not been updated since doing so would feel dishonest. Additionally, there has been some indication that taking public transit was not a signficant source of coronavirus outbreaks. This research was initially published a few months after my blog post.
